Trinity Park South Morang

An outdoor space that promotes physical activity and community connection.

The Whittlesea Council reached out looking to rehaul an existing outdoor space at a prominent park in their area. The park aimed to cater to younger adolescents; however, the wider public can certainly enjoy the space too.

Key Features

This project aimed to reinvent the under-utilised space into a place that added value to the local area and gave the public a space they could enjoy year-round. We started with a brand new playground to make sure we made the space enjoyable for the young ones, who make up a big part of the local demographic in the area.

From here, we put in a good-sized basketball court that will be sure to draw a crowd and provide countless hours of fun. We even had enough space to draw in a four-square court too! To make the new space even more enticing, we fitted out the area with highly functional fitness equipment, which adds to the new space’s appeal of enjoyable physical activity.

To finish things off, we ensured the entire space was accessible and easy to move through with pathways, seating and tons of natural greenery.

Key Solutions

This project had two key challenges. One, it was completed throughout Winter. As landscapers, we are certainly used to handling projects throughout the colder, wet months. Still, the importance of minimising mud and unnecessary damage to the area can never be overstated. How this is done is different for every project.

Secondly, there was a lot of work here to be done on a small budget. A new playground, basketball court, fitness equipment and much more is a lot of work, but with several smart-money saving decisions that didn’t compromise the overall project, we completed the project on time and within the budget.

Project Outcomes

The locals of this fantastic new outdoor area will benefit from it for years to come. The overall space just invites enjoyable outdoor physical activity with a great community feel. Most importantly, the space will undoubtedly add value to the nearby properties and the general surrounding community.
